Therapist thoughts
I am creating this space as a way to connect to the billions of people out there when the one tiny little voice in my head screams, “Who cares what you have to say.” I know that even in that experience of my inner most thoughts making me feel alone, I am not alone. We all struggle to feel enough: smart enough, funny enough, beautiful enough, loved enough, good enough, enough enough.
I hope that this space becomes a place that one person may read something and think, “Hey, me too!” or “Ha! I never thought of it that way!”
Becoming a therapist was the greatest decision I never made. I can tell you how I chose my undergrad and grad schools, which led me to my traineeships and recent career experiences. But that wouldn’t really be the beginning of my story. I have a 5th grade year book that a classmate wrote, “Thank you for always listening to me when I needed it the most.” It has always just been in my nature to create a space to feel heard, seen, and valid. This is something I have always wanted to give every human I have ever come in contact with. I now have the knowledge and expertise to do it in a way that allows you to take home the tools to do it for yourself. I’m so honored and privileged to have been witness to the amazing transformation of so many wonderful people and am eager to continue to do so with those who choose me to be their next therapist.
