Taking your first steps to yourself

This week, my mind is focused on taking that first step. For you, it may be just asking that friend for a little extra support, giving in and having google walk you through something, or maybe its finally making the decision to find a therapist. This may feel small but its really the biggest first step, its almost like taking one giant leap up a mountain. At times it can feel unsurmountable due to all the “leg” work it takes to find the right therapist for you (I love me a good metaphor). You want to find someone first and foremost that fits into your budget, whether that is financially though insurance or out of pocket, but also your time budget! Making space and time in your already busy life to invest in yourself can be a hard decision, everything else feels like a priority. But you are the most important tool in your life, if you don’t take the time to care for yourself, your life will be getting the worn down, dull version of you. If you are reading this, I hope this inspires you to take that leap, make an appointment with a therapist who feel can support your needs and connect with you where you are at in your life. You are on the precipice of great change and it takes that first step to get the ball rolling and with just a tad of momentum, who knows where you might find yourself! I challenge you to take that first step, in whatever way that looks for you.
